Another +1 for NFCU

Requested CLI on Cashrewards. Got the 3-5 day message. Checked my account a couple hours later and received a 2500 CLI...... Opened the account in December. Not sure if it was a hp or not. Will update when and if it hits the reports.

I must add... I have moved all my financial business with them. I'm not sure there is another Bank or Credit Union out there right now that can compete with their customer service or products especially for those that may have had a rocky credit history.

Starting Score: 656(EQ myFICO) 668 (TU myFICO)
Current Score: 638 EQ 680 TU08 677 EX
Goal Score: 750

Congrats!!! Smiley Very Happy

I have no armed forces affiliations, but I sure am happy for those who can obtain the sorts of products and services that help them while they're building their credit histories the right way! For me, it happened with a local credit union. For you, it happens with NFCU!

In my wallet: Apple $5,000, local CU $15,000, Bread AMEX $5,000. In my sock drawer: A few other cards Smiley Happy

+1.  Navy is probably the best out there in terms of giving generous CLs and approvals to rebuilders.

Re: Another +1 for NFCU

Thanks.  I'm a bit worried.  My EX report is stellar but it looks like they pull EQ or TU.  TU is ok but my EQ is horrid.

I was hoping they would take the EX since I lifted the freeze last month when I applied for a loan through my local credit union.  No such luck.  What's weird is that my EX reports nothing bad - no negative items at all.  My TU reports everything good except my car and also everything bad.  Fortunately, all the bad stuff is old.  But my EQ reports all the bad and none of the good except my car loan!  None of my current cards or accounts are on there except my car loan.  It's weird.   Anyway, I just got an email from NFCU asking me to call. They wanted me to verify some info because my EQ and TU are frozen.  They said I should get an answer in 24 hours.

Re: Another +1 for NFCU

Denied acceptance to NFCU as I'm only prior-service Army and not active.  I wish USAA went back to that same standard.

Re: Another +1 for NFCU

You have to be active duty to join NFCU? I just assumed that active or prior service would be accepted. Someone's service counts the same to me whether active or inactive. That is surprising to me.

No.  But you need to have some affiliation with the Armed services such as a direct relative who is currently a member of NFCU or work for a contractor that may be affilated with the DoD.

If you apply, they will call you to confirm your affiliation and will honestly try to get you approved.  I just no longer have any ties to the military and nobody in my family does either.
