Q2 2014 I received a targeted offer from Barclays for an additional 2X points in several categories on my Sallie Mae platinum card.
Q3 2014 I received a targeted offer from Barclays for an additional 2X points in several categories on my Sallie Mae platinum card.
Q4 2014 I received a targeted offer from Barclays for an additional 2X points in several categories on my Sallie Mae platinum card.
Q4 2014 I received a SECOND targeted offer for $20 off my Amazon Prime subscription on my Sallie Mae platinum card.
Q1 2015 no targeted offers.
Q2 2015 I received a targeted offer from Barclays for an additional 2X points in several categories on my Sallie Mae platinum card. This one is for an extra 2X (added to the regular 1X) for Travel, Dining, and Home Improvement Store purchases. Capped at an additional 2,500 points.
The bonus categories aren't that great for me this time, but hey, thanks Barclays!
By the way, They reduced my APR on that card by 4 percent last week.

Wow! So it seems like these sweet targeted offers are more likely with the Sallie Mae Platinum version rather than the Sallie Mae World. I would gladly trade my "World" status/features (whatever those are) for some of these "Platinum" perks.
I never get anything from Barclays excpet BT offers.
