@Hooosier wrote:I have had my Capital One "Platinum" for 9 years. The initial CL was $400 and it was bumped to $550 after about a year or so but hasn't moved since. Keep in mind that my credit wasn't so great for a number of those years so it's not shocking I didn't receive any auto CLI. Fast forward to this Spring - I have paid off over 10K in debt and my credit scores have jumped to reflect that. With my now higher credit scores I was approved for four cards with CLs of 7K to 15K and there sat my Capital One card with a sad $550 limit.
I decided it was time to attempt a CLI. I first went through the chat option on Capital One's website fully expecting to be denied a CLI and I was. So late Friday night I shot an email to the Capital One EO explaining my situation. They called me back Monday afternoon but I was at the gym and couldn't answer so I returned their call Tuesday morning. We went over my email and without hardly even asking they waived my annual fee for this year, reduced my APR by 4.5%, and added cash rewards. We went over some basic income/expense questions and he asked what credit limit I was looking for. I didn't want to push my luck so I asked for 5K. This afternoon (Wednesday) he called me back to say that my credit limit increase request had been approved for the full requesed amount of 5K!
Thank you to all of you who pointed me in the right direction!
Congrats!!!!
Congrats!
Congrats! Will you PM the email you used? I found two variations of the EO email through Google and am not sure which is most current. Thanks!
