@Anonymouswrote:Meh. The spending requirement is too high for what you get. Even the Reserve's spending requirement is $4,000 and it's probably worth as much as the Citi bonus after point transfers. It doesn't surprise me that Cut-Corners Bank either has a conservative sign up bonus with higher spend or none at all, with nothing in between.
Personally i'm getting real tired of Citi's cheapness lately. Nerfing the Prestige... Upping the requirements of Citi Gold... 99% overseas customer service... weak to no signup bonuses for their points cards... Cheap metal used on the Prestige and the most flimsy card in my wallet comes from them (Premier).
What happened to it being your 2018 credit goal? Your opinions of Prestige and Platinum change very frequently.
Prestige actually does get (at least in my experience) competent domestic reps (after some annoying menus). Lower-tier CCs and other lower-tier banking services are where the incompetent domestic reps (and I've had more than a few complaints with them) and all foreign ones seem to work.

I'm pretty sure they've had sign up bonus so of 40k points for $4k spend and/or 50k points for $5k spend, maybe even 30k points for $3k spend. Nothing spectacular value wise, but the same rate and more easily hittable than 75k for $7.5k.
I got 50k for $3k in 2016. That was the standard public offer for a long time, not a short-lived or targeted one. There were targeted 100k for $5k offers, too.
75k/$7.5 may not be great or hittable for everyone, but for potential appicants who can meet the spend, it's a heck of a lot better than the recent offer of nothing.
Maybe Citi doesn't want it to be a hittable offer for everyone. It is, after all, their super-premium card.

I'm still getting the Prestige, I'm just tired of Citi slowly taking away the perks for their customers. I have no use for Admirals club or Golf (even though I think it'd be fun and relaxing to play). The only thing that would sting a little for me is the 1.6 cpp AA redemptions, but AA isn't my perferred airline anyways. I'm speaking in terms of all of their banking products, not just credit cards.
If Prestige has their own dedicated line of competent, English speaking reps that go out of their way to help you, then it's just another reason why I'd want to get the card.
It turns out Citi”s best premium card is AA Exec because you can have up to 10 AUs have Admiral lounge access and primary cardholder has priority when checking in at the airport and going through security. Citi blew Prestige up when they nerfed AA lounge.
Hmmm, only Amex now as a airline’s lounge offering with a non- airline credit card, plat gives you Delta. I turns out citi can’t beat Amex in the premium travel space after all.

Don't worry, that'll be next to get the axe.
The AA Exec card would be attractive if the earnings rate didn't stink. I'd have to spend $60,000 a year just to get one round trip ticket to Florida and back, unless I magically found "miles saaver" days which was like three days in the entire month of March when I was trying to book back in October. Perhaps if the card offered 2x on dining and gas or something, and then added a free first class companion ticket (like Delta's premium card) I'd consider changing my main airline to American.

No need to spend to have lounge access and to purchase non-first class seat during busy travel periods. Some cards its never about the earnings to enjoy better and more comfortable travel.

Better yet, Citi could get off their behinds and add AA as a transfer partner....
But that would require Citi to make generous improvements to the TY program.

Amex would add AA before citi would. Citi is too cheap to. That is why their transfer program is so weak. Amex already as an alliance w/ AA. I have called for preferred pricing using my plat card and have received two lower price first class fares than what was on the AA site. Some little things I bet you didn’t know about Amex.

Yes they do.
