Anyone been FR'd by Amex more than once?

Curious, because I just survived one FR with no change to CLI. Since a lot of people probably don't go through that process ever, does that mean Amex has been nosey enough to satisfy them?

Some people have been FRd more than once, in one reported case only a few months later (where at least the tax return info was exactly the same)

The general feeling is that Amex has been reassured to some extent, so they are somewhat less likely to react than they did in the first place, but if enought triggers go off, nothing prevents more FRs.

I've never undergone a FR, although I have read about people getting multiple FRs. Not necessarily in close proximity to each other though. I doubt you will have another issue in the immediate future, but if you trip the amex warning bell again they probably will not hesitate to FR you if they think there has been a possible change in your circumstances. I would be suprised if you got another one this year and honestly I think it was just a random combination of factors that triggered this one so I would just use the cards as you need and life should be fine.

Passing one does not mean you are immune from another in the future.  It's definitely not a free pass to go out swinging harder.

Re: Anyone been FR'd by Amex more than once?

Even though I like buying up used music gear, which is almost always Paypal, I guess I'll try to avoid using it for that. She made mention in my call Square too. I konw plenty of legit businesses that take Square, so surprised she mentioned that. Maybe the occasional Paypal or Square is ok, but not a bunch?

Idk what I need to exact watch for in my spending now. My avg 12k or so a month is comprised of all kinds of things. Thats how much I pay on it too a month....so I am constantly carrying a balance but I'm constantly paying on it too.

They think you're paying yourself through Square or PayPal. Which would be stupid since you're looking at minimum 3% in processing fees.

Re: Anyone been FR'd by Amex more than once?

On the flip side, I had the unique case of being FR'd in order to open a measly Zync card in early 2011.

Fast forward 4 years later, that card is long gone, and my BCE has gone from a $2k limit to its current 12.6k.  I've had weird spending patterns on this card, as it is my secondary spend card.  Never once has Amex since batted an eye at me.

BofA Cash Rewards VS - $25k | Citi Double Cash World MC - $18.9k | Amex BCE - $50k | Discover it - $50k | Chase Freedom Unlimited VS- $10k | Barclay Ring $5k |

2.7% on PayPal, 2.75% on Square for card-present. And you get rewards on it. It's a MUCH cheaper cash advance than their allowed cash advance options.

American Express Blue Cash Everyday - $11,000; American Express Platinum Cashback Everyday - £3,000; American Express Rewards Credit Card - £7,500; Aqua Reward Mastercard - £3,500; Bank of America Travel Rewards - $5,000; Barclaycard Freedom Rewards - £3,500; Citi Forward - $5,800; Discover It - $10,000; Halifax Clarity - £1,500; HSBC Platinum with Rewards - $5,000, MBNA Everyday Plus - £3,500

Wondering ... is all this talk about American Express FR's unique to this board or is there something bigger in the wind?

The talk never goes away!   Other boards talk about it from time to time, especially trying to guess what triggers might be (including the type "My friend heard from his cousin's buddy's dental assistant that charging more than $30 in a bar in the afternoon is going to get you FRd.")

I don't think there is any increased FR activity.   Biggest ongoing thing is shutdown of OBC in CA, and that isn't done by FRs anyway.
