Yes, you can buy MOs at the post office with debit cards, including some kinds of gift cards. But then we are in to MS. Also note that some people start up planning to pay the mortgage, but you end up with two bills:
1) mortgage as usual
2) credit card from buying gift cards (or MO if you managed to luck out).
It's then easier and safer (as a mortgage is a bigger deal) to pay the mortgage from the bank account as usual, and deposit the MO (or other approaches) to pay off the credit card.
I would go with Citi Diamond preferredfor the 0 apr for 21 months and very low APR if you wound up going over it
