I have the latest Citi app on the iphone 5s, its not glitchy at all, buttery smooth and I use it all the time.

It was a headache! At the end, I just thought this card is going in the SD while my other cards age a bit, then I'm cancelling it. I must admit, I called Citi after I had called Discover to request that my APR be lowered (which they graciously did!) and the contrast in CS between the two was like night and day.
I have to say that I love talking to Discover. I frequently forget that I'm dealing with a bank with them (in a good way). Even though they're not my highest limit card, they're either my favorite, or slightly behind my AMEX BCE. I am a big fan of both AMEX and Discover, personally. If there weren't places that didn't take Discover, I'd cancel Citi and not look back. But unfortunately, you still have to carry around a Visa for those places that don't take AMEX or Discover. I love talking wtih them as well. Every Discover CSR I've spoken with has been incredibly friendly and accomodating and it's a nice touch knowing what State they're in. Discover isn't my most favorite card, nor does it have the highest CL or lowest APR (in fact, it's my highest APR), but I want to continue doing business with them because they're such a pleasure to deal with.
I've never had a negative experience with Citi per say, but it's never stuck out in my mind of how amazing their rep was to me or anything. I'll probably app for a Discover IT when I app for CSP and Sallie Mae to complete the "trifecta of rotating 5% back cards", if only for the FICO and knowing that their customer service is always rated highly. So I completely understand what you mean by you saying you like to give business to those companies that treat you better.
Good luck on your future apps!
I'm a big fan of Citi.. They've been nothing but good to me.
When you login to your Citi account on the computer if you notice at the top of the page, they are going through a website upgrade. I work in IT, and I would say it's likely if they are upgrading backend servers they are likely doing several things at once. I would be willing to bet after everything is done they will come back around and focus in on any issues with that App.
I hate that i cant see my citi banking and credit card accounts in one sign in, like i can with chase. App or web. Annoying as *bleep*. Only gripe with that bank.
If they'd fix their website to behave with Firefox, I'd like them even more.
They are getting new ATMS which is pretty exciting hopefully they arent more slow than the ones they already have hahha
