Hi guys,
Expert Question here.
Woudl this hurt my credit if this is showing on the file. This is all the info I have on it. Hope this helps. Also does high balance being higher than limit hurt and mean I went over my limit? TIA!
Name: BOA
Account Type: Revolving
Account Status: Lost or Stolen
Monthly payment: -
Date Opened: 8/2006
Balance: -
Terms
High Balance: $546.00
Limit: $500.00
Past Due: -
Payment Status: Current
Comments: Credit Card lost or stolen
High Balance being higher than the limit is not scored. On a manual review, the person wouldn't necessarily know you went over your limit because you could have had your limit decreased to $500 from a higher amount. That said, I don't know how they actually look at it, and I wouldn't be surprised if they make some assumptions.
I don't think any of the other things about the account are bad. It's just a closed account because the card was lost/stolen. Are there negative entries for the account, like late payments?
Thank you and yes they are reporting the accurate info on the replacement card.
Thanks for you help again!

I don't think so since the comments state lost or stolen. I don't believe FICO dings it for that.
On the opposite (positive!) side, this may be a good thing for your credit score. If this account is showing as closed, and you have a new account showing on your credit report with the same opened date in 2006 and there are no lates on either account, then that is 2 positive tradelines according to FICO scoring--and both with an older open date from 5-6 years ago, which could be good for your AAoA.
Good luck!
