Good decision Smiley Happy

But look at it this way, you only have to do that for 1 month to get "ahead" and then you won't be in such a pinch.  After all you said this was for "cash flow" reasons when your rent was due a few days before you had the cash.

By just getting your cash situation in place and using cash, rather than credit, you will save a lot of money and save your credit in the long run.  Trust somebody who knows (look at my sig line score past history).

Being young/student/new bills/etc is tough.  Get a night job sitting in a convenience store, you can still do your homework and sleep if you put a bell on the door (just kidding).

Do not burn US Bank.  You will really like them in the future.

If you are on this path already:  NO PAYDAY LOANS.  Sell a kidney before you get in bed with that scum

I've paid my rent before with 2 really crappy cards.  (Continental Finance + First Premier Bank - both Mastercards) and although these cards are fee generating monsters they do not post as a cash advance.  I'm not certain how if there is any difference with how US Bank will catorgorize your transaction but just giving you some actual user experience.

You can get the "Current Discover" card which is a prepaid card. You can fund it with your credit card and it is counted as a purchase not a cash advance. You can then ACH the money off the Current card and into your bank account. No credit check to get the card.

Re: Anyway to get cash from CC without treating as cash advance?

I did some research for the "Current Card" from discover (PS: feel a little strange that I couldn't find the link from discover main page, I have to google the link out..... http://www.discovercard.com/current/)

So I think this might be a good method too. But this card is for parents to control their kids' spending, I'm not sure whether I can just open a card for myself.....

I just call the account manager and here is some interested thing I found out:

1. Two terms: "account holder" vs "card holder"

2. "account holder" can manage the account, but will NOT have a card INITIALLY

3. "card holder" can use the card, but can't mange the account (duhh~)

4. "card holder" is not restricted to your kids, it can also be your parents or grand parents etc (i.e. there is no age limit), but I'm not sure whether the card holder must be someone related to you

5. A "account holder" can open up to 3 card, the twist is: you can set one of the card holder to be the account holder!! (if not, then the account holder won't get a card, see #2)

6. A $5 monthly fee is charged to the account holder (or $50 annual fee)

Conclusion: I can open an account and assign a card to myself~ great~

csif you have a discover network card you can get $20 -$60 "cash over" just like a debit card, if have the walmart discover card you can get $20-$100

This good reason to put everying you can on a credit card and PIF since the stuff on the credit card won't be due for weeks, It like spoting yourself
