Me too... 5 and 5. Good cards. The second card hit yesterday and my FICO is already down 30 pts. I am going to have a FICO score of like 15 when this is all over... ![]()

Is it an addiction to applying or aproval?
My itch is just the opposite. Can't wait to get some paid off and closed so there's less to manage.
I daydream about how great only having two cards would be, LOL!

For me I am trying to get out of debt. 3 cards were BT cards. One was Walmart for the FICO
. And then I just apped for Hyatt for the 2 free nights and chip and sig/no Foreign transaction fees. I did not have a no FTF card or a chip and sig.

I have been having the itch for the Chase sapphire preferred the last few weeks. The thing that gets me though it is since I just got the United card 2 months ago, I keep telling myself just wait, use the United card for the full year the AF is free, then switch to the sapphire preferred. I also want the capital one Venture one, but I know the 3 HP's of doom could be the kiss of death if I do it before I app for the CSP. Wait until next year, continuing to pay down my student loans, and I should be good to get both cards jan or feb 2013.

For me, the "itch" is just my inner workings to get the best assortment of cards that works for me.
I currently have four, but will more than likely close out the BoA card by next year if AMEX treats me well with CLI's.
That would bring me down to 3.
Then I want a travel card and a hotel card. Fitting my spending profile, United MileagePlus and Hyatt Visa are my best two.
With 5 cards, my mix would be "optimal" for the time being.
I don't want every card, I just want a small spectrum of cards that will work for me. A lot of the cards I see out there provoke very little reaction from me, even some of the heavy hitting cards like Platinum or the Palladium... my income just doesn't match those cards, so I stay grounded.

@ Dada,
Is any card truly worth 3 hard pulls?
