I just recently applied for two GE cards, Wal-Mart and Amazon, seeing as how I shop those the most often and would utilize those quite a bit, AND RESPONSIBLY, but was given the dreaded 7-10 day notice. I haven't checked my score recently, but am believed to be sitting at about a 642, but is there any way I could speed up the process. The hardest part is the waiting game, and I'm eager to grow my credit, so having these 2 additional cards would really help me, but am trying to be patient on whether I was approved or denied.
Any advice on how I could find out sooner, or must I be patient? ![]()

Agreed. When I got the 7-10 day message for my Dillard's card, I was sure that it meant that I had been turned down. Instead, they simply wanted to confirm my identity and I was approved. I would recommend that the OP give them a call and find out.

GE has been doing the ID verification a lot lately, I keep seeing that for everyone's approvals.

Should I call Wal-Mart underwriting, or Wal-Mart Personal Accounts? And for Amazon, GEMB backdoor number in the backdoor thread would work fine, correct?

I think in your situation Personal Accounts is fine. If you needed to recon UW would be better.
I think...
