I applied for the amazon and get the "we need to review more" message, so in the meantime I made a few purchases on amazon.com and actually forgot I had applied for the card. Three weeks later I opened my email and I had a you've been approved message.  I logged onto my amazon acct and there it was my amazon visa w/ a CL of  $1600 sitting there waiting for me...two weeks after that they upped my credit limit to $2100.  My scores were over 620 but under 650 at the time.  I have had the card for 8 months now..I love that card Smiley Very HappySmiley Happy Moral of my story is never give up...chase is awesome

Re: Applied for Amazon visa and....

Back in Nov., out of the blue I got a Chase Platnum Visa pre-approval. I applied and to my surprise I got a $4000 limit- My highest card ever.  Around Christmas I was shopping online at Amazon and applied for the Amazon/Chase MasterCard to save $30 on a purchase. I got denied. I called recon, and I told them I really wanted to have both a Visa and MC from Chase- they made me drop $1000 from my Visa and gave me $1000 MC. I don't ever plan on using $4000 in credit cards so I thought- why not. I always pay in full and pay no interest. So the difference in interest rates don't matter.

Re: Applied for Amazon visa and....

well partner just applied for the store card and it's not instant.

I recently went joint on a southwest card but I would LOVE to get my own chase card, but I also don't want them to get my application and then see the joint account and close it or something because they hate my credit or history!

Re: Applied for Amazon visa and....

In January I was on Amazon.com buying a map update for one of my gps units and decided to get the Visa card and save $30 on my purchase.  I applied and received an immediate approval for a $2000 minimum credit line.  Something to that effect, I don't remember the exact wording but called the 800 number which linked me to an automated system that stated that I was approved and my credit limit would be $4000.  I don't know why they gave me the temporary $2000 figure. The card arrived a week or so later and I called Chase and changed to a Freedom card, I guess the Amazon card is one that they can change.  I then went back to Amazon.com and applied for the store card and got a $2700 limit.  I think it is through GE.

Re: Applied for Amazon visa and....

There are some other things on my CR other than the one late from GMAC. I have a new collection from last year and they said I have too many inquiries. The inq are there because someone has been trying to open credit in my names. I have a fraud alert on all my reports now so we will see what happens. The Credit specialist said that if it wasnt for the late on my auto loan they would give me the Amazon Chase. GMAC said that they would remove it and send me a letter confirming that in the mail. Still waiting....

I am really trying to get the Amazon VISA also.  I am wondering if you would mind providing a bit more info about your credit history?  You mentioned you had scores under 650 but over 620, and you were approved?  I applied, and I received the same "pending 7-10 day" decision, but I already have a CHASE Freedom Plus VISA.

Someone else mentioned cutting one of their other CHASE cards and using that cut limit towards the Amazon VISA.  How difficult is it to do that?

Any help you can give would be greatly appreciated.

Re: Applied for Amazon visa and....

I recently applied for this card with a EQ of 661. I received an email saying that i would get a response in the mail within 15 - 30 days. I called the application status phone number the next day to see if the status changed. To my delight I was approved for a limit of $1700.

Re: Applied for Amazon visa and....

I applied for the amazon visa about a year ago and also got the 7-10 wait reply. I called the recon number and it turned out I had been approved, but for a small amount. When I asked if that could be changed at all the rep checked my history and increased it to $2000.

They're doing some kind of promotional deal right now where you get tons of points for using the amazon visa.
