Applied for CLI starwood ..DENIED ...WIERD

I have a amex zync 2 years and a starwood card almost 1 year old...

I keep applying for CLI every month and comes back denied "reason past deragatory account"

I had an amex back in 2001 which went into collections and paid off in full.

How do I convince amex that I was irresponcible back then and Its wierd that they approved me for the cards and keep sending me pre approvals but cant CLI my starwood card.

Other than applying online, have you contacted anyone in their recon department?

It's known that Amex (nor their computers) do not forget past history. What is your usage on the SPG?

No I havent contacted them on phone yet for anything.

I have a $1000 limit and heavy usage almost 10k in a year now.

Maybe I will call them on phone next time for a CLI

On your denail letter, there should be a number to call. I would call that. Explain your situation. I think the only way you will get around the automatic block is to have your account reviewed manually.
