Hey guys,
So I had an itchy finger and decided to apply for the Citi Thank you card this evening. My Fico scores are in the 740's as of 5/18 and my Util is 29% so I figured this would be a good time to try Citi. I tried in October 2011 and was denied due to a high util. Well tonight when I applied I was expecting to get an instant decision but I did not. The analyst that helped me fill out the application said that she has been working there for years and she can only remember a handful of times that applicants had preapproved offers so she told me not to think that not getting an instant decision was a bad thing. My question is if anyone else has had this happened to them with Citi and ended up getting approved?! I find it a little odd that I did not get any type of decision at all.
As for my application, like I stated before I have FICO scores in the 740s and my income is 50K. Do you guys think I have a good chance of getting approved? Or will I be getting that dreaded "were sorry we cannot offer credit to you at this time" come Monday when I call in?

I recently got approved for a Citi Thank You, 6k limit, 22.99%, 15 month 0%, score was 710ish (Citi pull) with no baddies and only 2 inqs at the time of my app.
Hope that helps

Applied for Thank You & AA Advantage as well as HD & Sears within weeks of one another and got instant approvals on all of them. It might be because I have a
secured card with them that I've had for 11 mos. I kept a 0 balance and used it quite frequently. HTH

When I applied yesterday I had 4 inq. on my experian with one that should be off the next time I run my report since it was done on 5/25/10. Another inq was done on 8/2/10. Besides that, the only other inqs I have from experian are when I have tried to get a Citi card...Go figure
