Applied for Citi.

Decided I'd see if I could apply for Citi Forward. I tried a few months ago and the citiforward.com site wasn't working. I was able to get the application through and it seemed to be processing for a while. Then I got the dreaded " further processing is required" boo. I'll try calling tomorrow for an update. Anyone know what number to call?

I'll keep you guys posted.

My experience is if you get further processing and then it doesn't give you an application number and phone number to call in for security you are declined... My roommate was given a phone number to call right away and after couple questions was instantly approved for $4600

After doing some digging it seems quite common that people get the further processing message.

I tried a few of the backdoor numbers but it seems the system hasn't even registered my application yet. The system said to wait to two weeks for it to be noted in the system. I'll try calling tomorrow when I know the offices are open.

Re: Applied for Citi.

Credit addict, you were correct in your assumption. I called Citi and spoke a very pleasant rep who looked into my application. She said I was denied because I didn't meet their numerical value to warrant approval. She said they pulled EX and that I'll receive a letter in the next 7-10 days, which will allow me to pull my report. She mentioned that there were some delinquencies that showed on my report, probably Chase and Old Navy which were late about two years ago. She encoraged me to reapply when those things were gone.

It sucks that they pulled EX since there's really no way of seeing the actual score they receive. I've pulled EX in the past and saw that Citi was doing a lot of looking at it. I get "preselections" for their other cards.

Re: Applied for Citi. *EDIT*

Would it be worth it to recon when I get the notice in the mail? It's really bugging me that they pulled EX, since I have no idea what it says. The delinquencies are quite old at this point. I've had excellent payment history for more than a year, approaching two years. I should have a zero balance posting soon, might that help?

Re: Applied for Citi. *EDIT*

I dont believe it ever hurts to recon. You already got the HP, so why not attempt it. The worst they can say is no?

Current Score: 08/01/2011 EQ 684 EX (Lender Pull) 702 TU 712

Does citi recon for too many INQs?

Re: Applied for Citi. *EDIT*

That I'm not sure about. If you're blatantly credit shopping with high balances, I would think probably not. I bought a car  and had four loan apps hit at basically the same time, I saw a nice dip in my score. It's back up now, but I waited more than two months to apply for anything else. I haven't applied for any type of card or account in a year.

The rep didn't mention that I had too many inqs, just that I had high balances and some old delinquencies.

It might be worth a phone call, just don't expect a yes.
