Applied for NFCU CC.... Now I have to wait over the weekend for the results. She said 3-5 days and that I should call back Wednesday if I hadn't heard anything. Anyhow, I had just been approved for my mebership which entailed a checking and savings account. As soon as she said "Welcome to the NFCU family you've been approved" she quickly followed up with "Would you like to apply for a auto loan or credit card?" I was thinking that I had to fund my accounts first but I guess not.
My plan was to wait until everything was setup but I thought what the hell? So I did it and now I guess I'll have to wait over the weekend before I know my results. Oh well... worst case at least I'm a member. ![]()

Congrats on your membership. Have you set-up your login info yet? You can call them to get the info. Also, if I were you, I would go ahead and fax them income verification 703-206-4125 just incase they ask. If you do decide to fax them the info, make sure you put your access number on the cover letter, or you can email them the info via its secured webmail.

Thank you for the advice Gonzalo... I did just as you said. Hopefully it will help things along a bit.

Well I got my results and I was approved for a nRewards card with $5,000 limit at a interest rate of 11.999%. After reading all the threads on such high CL's I must admit that I was a little dissapointed especially after sending them proof of income. However, I can't complain and I'm still excited as this is my highest limit card thus far.

Hey, it's not a bad start. They started me out at a measly $1.5k when I was seeing other people instantly approved for $10k+. But less than a year later (it's been about 10 months) I now have two $14k cards and an auto loan from them, so I can't really complain. As long as you use your card responsibly, they seem quite willing to give you additional credit (either another card or a CLI) after you gain their trust.

After doing a little more research on the NFCU CC's I decided that the Visa Signature Flagship card would work more to my benefit having not Foreign transaction Fees, (I work overseas), and supposedly "superior travel rewards" so I requested a product change. The represenative was extremely nice and helped me through the process and said that it wont be a problem since my original card "nRewards" hadn't even shipped yet. She switched the product and said that I will receive it in 10 to 15 days.
I will follow up with you once I receive my card and tell you which one it was....

Now... almost 48 hours after apping and being approved for the nRewards which was changed to the Flagship Rewards I decided to ride the momentum wave and go for the NavCheck....... Approved $5,000 limit. Incredible giving where I was 1.5 years ago!

Congrats! I'm still waiting on a decision. They received my pay statements late yesterday. But since I recently got approved for the Chase Slate, NFCU can take as long as they need.

I joined nfcu a few weeks ago and I echo the sentiments of most nfcu members...they are great! I applied for navcheck today and the status changed to conditionally approved. They are asking for my last 2 paystubs and a bank statement from another bank which I faxed over to them so I guess I'll just have to wait and see. I was also approved for a CC with a 17.5k credit line when I opened my accounts with them. That was a pleasant surprise!
