I don't think so.  I got the same message and was approved for a $2000 limit.

Re: Applied for NFCU cashrewards & got 3-5 message

It took 4 days.  I called everyday before and they kept telling me to wait.  Then I went to check the status in the online message center and saw the approved.  Still haven't received my card though.

thanks, I also applied for a personal loan on Sunday haven't heard anything yet on that. OK so I just called and for my loan they need to verify employment so they needed the number. The CC doesn't show anything yet. She said 3-5 days.

Does NFCU do instant approvals?

I don't believe they do.  When you call they say that all applications take 3-5 business days to approve.  It's the best part about a credit union.  Someone manually looks at everything.

Re: Applied for NFCU cashrewards & got 3-5 message

The NFCU  CSR advised I was eligible for Cash Rewards card when we were on phone discussing other matters......he ran the  app and I did get instant approval on that card.

About a month later I apped on line for the Platinum and received the 3-5 message.

I read on this forum (I'm always learning something here!!) you can check status on line w/NFCU and that's what I did the vey next day and it showed I was approved for the card.

Just go to "Other Services" tab and then click on "Lending Services" and select "Check status of pending loan application" which shows status for all loan and/or credit card apps pending.  You should see the status right there.

Let us know!!

Yes, there are still instant approvals via online apps as well as phone apps for credit cards, etc..., but they are less common the past year or so since underwriting standards tightened.
