Is there a way to check my application status online?

There is an online application status checking page on the AMEX website (just google it or search on their website).  Quite possibly it'll say that you've been approved!

Re: Apply for AMEX Blue Cash Everday?

Thanks! I mainly got it for cashback on gas and groceries without having to always sign up for the categories.

Why else is it good? Is it typically harder to get? Does it look good on a credit report somehow?

I found an old thread that might be helpful. Amex revolvers are usually harder to get so congratulations on jumping that hurdle. Amex has a prestigious reputation but it won't earn you any special points on the FICO scoring model. However, if you treat it like you are your other cards- pay on time and keep your utilization low, your scores will get higher. Some lenders may also consider you a more desirable borrower during a manual review (say for a house or a car) when you have prime cards (like Amex) on your credit report.

Enjoy your new card. Let us know what your credit limit is but if you use your card well, AMEX will typically  increase your credit limit in 61 days. I believe you have to call in for a credit limit increase but it is soft pull and you can ask for up to 3 times your current limit.
