Applying for Amex: BCE or Blue Sky. ----->>>APPROVED

I have a few questions before I apply:

1. So I'm ready to apply for an Amex but I'm torn between BCE and Blue Sky.

I've been receiving a lot of Blue Sky offers by mail, but just now that I'm really considering it.

I know I will benefit most from BCE since I only travel (by plane) once a year. But I do like to get some 'special treatment' whenever I do it, such as free checked bag or late check out. Is this the right card?  Would everyday purchase help me getting rewards that I can redeem towards traveling? Should I just stick to BCE and use the cash rewards? Do they charge foreign transaction fee?

I have 3 other cc's and they're all cash rewards.

2. My fico sore is 745. Last time I applied for a cc is 06/11 for BofA. No inq since then. The only negative record is 30 day late payment in May 2009.

What are my chances of getting approved?

3. I have 3 score power reports. Should I use this before or after I apply. I asked this question in myFico product forum but it seems like nobody hangs out there.

I would go for the BCE since you do not travel often. Youll get more rewards that way as well. I think you have a decent shot at approval.

I pulled the trigger and applied and got this:

Thank you for applying for the Blue Cash EverydaySM from American Express. Your application has been received and will be processed as soon as possible and we will notify you of the decision by mail within 14 days. 
Thank you for applying.

Oh well!

Should I check the status of my application? How?

I couldn't wait no more so I checked and voila, APPROVED for BCE!!!!

Now, I'm itching to find the CL.

Fyi, I used my Score Power before applying and it's 753.
