My TU has gone from 550 to 664 in 6 months. When I was in the 500s I got the Comenity Store Cards using the Shopping Card Trick. I also opened a SDFCU Secured Card (No Credit Check).
When I hit the 630s, I started apping for GERB cards, and got Walmart, Amazon, CareCredit. Then at 650 I got regular CC; Discover, Barclay Rewards, Barclay Apple.
I have 10 Baddies, no lates, and my Utilization is around 3%. I usually see a 10 point increase every month as the baddies fall off.
At 710, you are in much better shape than me.
No baddies. Just lots of inquiries and opened accounts.

When you guys are getting these cc approvals do you have any unpaid baddies, lates? Or does everyone have clean records.
Some do, some do not.
Me: no baddies, no lates, but high UTI (about 50% overall and 99% on 3 cards)
My DH: one derogatory (paid CO CapitalOne), multiple lates (like 20), no CC at all. Then I added him on 5 good cards. Since then, he got approved for 2 CapitalOne cards, a Barclays Rewards $500, and JCP $500 store card yesterday (I think GERCB pulled TU and his score was 627 on the print-out)
I still have one remaining chargeoff (from 2007, paid and updated in 2011) and a small paid collection ($51) from early 2011.
Here're my stats:
I applied and was denied for Chase Freedom six months ago, when the bad part of the Citibank TL was still fresh in memory. Just got a CLI and product change to Quicksilver from Capital One, though. Once those post to my statement, I'll be applying for Freedom & Discover, and will report back. With the recent Capital One successes, I think the year has really made a difference.
