My first unsecured card after a huge credit freefall was a capital one. I had an initial $300 limit. I never asked them for a rate increase, I just paid my bills on time to them each month. 2.5 years ago (when the card was a year old) they gave me a $600 increase. Then 8 months ago they increased it to $4500.
