Hello everyone,
This is sort of an intro post. Hi! My fasicination with the number that determines my livelihood has recently taken over me. So I'm quite happy to see and be a part of these boards!
Anyway I wanted to report that I was approved yesterday for Chase Freedom w/ a $2K CL and Chase Slate w/ a $1K CL. (for all of those wondering, there was only 1 pull) These are actually the first cards I've been approved for since graduating college.
Anyway, I applied for the Slate primarily to transfer a balance from my Citi Dividend Platinum Select within the first 30 days upon receiving the card (no charge). However the $1K CL isn't going to do much for me. I figure I'll try requesting a CLI so that it would cover the entire balance. We'll see what happens!
Welcome and congratulations!!!
How long is your credit history?
Thanks for the warm welcome and the congrats!
My history is 5.8 years with an average of 3.9 years. So I can expect a dreaded drop there.
Congrats! It's a great card!
Congratulations! Hwo much CL were you trying to get? What do you owe on that other card?
Thanks!
This was actually in response to a targeted (pre-approved) mailer I received earlier this week. The offers were quite appealing. The application didn't ask me for a number, but I was hoping $4K on the Slate at least. I'm fine with the $2K on the Freedom for now. The balance on the other card is around $2K which I plan to pay off entirely in the coming months. I would like to transfer the balance to avoid the APR of the other card (a hefty 26%).
Nice approvals! I did the same thing (Slate and Freedom) on 1 INQ. I did call for a CLI for a BT and the CSR assured me it was no hard pull. 3 days later a hard did in fact show up. It took me about 8 weeks to have them remove it as I gave no permission to pull nor did they inform me that a hard would be pulled. Be very careful when requesting a CLI with Chase.
Thanks for the heads up! I'll be sure to keep that in mind and be poised for betrayal.

LOL YMMV, of course...
