Approved for Chase Sapphire Preferred using backdoor number

Just wanted to let everyone know how much luck I have had using these backdoor numbers.  I was just denied by chase and the decision was overturned after speaking to the credit analyst.  The "computer" denied me because I have 13 inquiries on my report.  He was able to approve me for 5k.  This makes the 4th time I have heard the YES I was looking for when  calling.  MAKE THE MOST OF YOUR CREDIT INQUIRIES AND CALL THE NUMBERS!! Be prepared to give solid responses and stress the importance of them working with you.  Good luck!!

Re: Approved for Chase Sapphire Preferred using backdoor number

I wish I would have paid attention to the backdoor numbers when I originally applied for Barclays in June.  I was instantly denied, but when I applied in November and was denied - called backdoor and was approved.  Geez - I could have saved myself an inquiry had I READ more information here lol

Congrats....how were you able to get Chase to approved you?

I mean, what exactly did they asked you and how were you able to convinced them to approved?

Great job again with the recon.

This gives alot of OP hope.......Smiley Wink

Re: Approved for Chase Sapphire Preferred using backdoor number

Great question!!  My last experience with chase recon. dept. was fairly simple.  I called and explained to the credit analyst that I was denied for the Chase sapphire preferred and that their Chase freedom card was no longer a desirable card for me and did not meet my travel needs.

My first experience with calling Chase for a CLI was a little different.  The person in the credit department wasn't as "laid back".  I could immediately tell that I would have to give it my all.  I point out the fact that I have do my checking and savings through chase as well and that my long term goal was to obtain a mortgage through them.  I explain that I take my credit very seriously, and that having lower credit lines sets me up for a lower score when I have to carry a balance. I am always quick to respond to any questions and handle myself in a very serious-somewhat polite way.

I hope this helps and good luck!!!

Re: Approved for Chase Sapphire Preferred using backdoor number

i have the chase sapphire (NOT preferred) and used the backdoor number to get a CLI bumped up to 10,000 (from 5,000).

originally i went from 5,000 to 7,500 through requesting a CLI over the phone (requested 5,000 increase to 10,000). then i asked to be transferred to the loan specialist since i didn't get the full 5,000.  i spoke with a nice but a tired/bored young man and he asked generic questions about why (i said i wanted to combine my personal and work expenses under 1 card and 5,000 was just not doing it for me).  He took a minute to look over the original application and came back and said he would reccommend approving it to 10,000.

really sweet, instead of applying for another card with that hard pull, i got this one increased. really helps me out too!
