Saw it, but the offer came up no longer valid. . I tried clicking on it numerous times. It was a no go.

I found this in an article from the NY Times dated 6/20/11:
Recently, some big banks—Wells Fargo and JPMorgan Chase—as well as some smaller credit unions have introduced cards with E.M.V chips for customers who travel internationally. Chase has said it will expand its E.M.V. offerings in the coming months, and on Monday it introduced a second E.M.V. card, JPMorgan Select Visa Signature® card. Unlike some versions of E.M.V. cards, which require a PIN, Chase’s smart-chip cards use a signature, but you don’t have to sign at unmanned kiosks, according to the bank.
Apparently, these will work at the unmanned kiosks without a pin, which was one of my concerns.
Asked the lady of the couple what she thought about this card.
We'll see, might app for it, might not. 2 free nights is pretty sweet and the annual fee is more than covered with a one night stay at a Hyatt, if I were going to stay somewhere anyway.

Frug- the deal is EVERY YEAR you get an anniversary night in a catagory 1-4 hotel. That will cover the AF every time. Plus no foreign transaction fees, if you happen to venture away from US currency.
Yeah, I know.
I'm gonna talk it over with the lady. Last night she thought I was obsessed with apping, so me mentioning this to her today is only going to prove my "insanity" to her, even though I only have 4 cards. She wants to take a mini-vacation and not having to pay for the room would be sweet if I were to apply and get approved.
We'll see how well I plead my case.
I was THIS close to pressing submit on an app but figured she might not take it so well if I just did it without consultation lol

Probably best that you get the thumbs up first. You could be sure to mention that you could never afford to give her the level of luxury that the free nights could (and still save up for the big day), and you would like to pamper her with the Grand Hyatt.
I hovered and debated over pressing that button. I was torn about causing even more havoc with my scores and the way 5 new cards will look. I have done so much CS damage with all these new cards, I figured this was my last chance to strike since the first card hit and FICO tanked 30 points. Its like squeezing that last bit of juice out of a lemon. Now I will be waiting a year for all these new cards to age out. Then I will be able to get the hotel card that I want the most, the Hilton. I stay at Hiltons way more than Hyatts. No way either Citi or Amex will give me a card for a year, but Chase was a possibility so I went for it. My phone just went off with another SW.. I hope that means Chase pulled EQ! There are the least inq's there!
Can you let me know what they pulled?
I think I'll be able to talk her into letting me app.
Your argument was the one I wanted to share with her. It gives us a "free" night a year where we could just go on a one night adventure, kind of like the one we did last weekend at King of Prussia. $75 is much better than paying $200 or more for a one nighter.
I'm not concerned about INQ's, I know you have a few more than me (don't mean that in a bad way).
I tend to stay at Hilton's more too, but just the "free" night once a year is good enough for someone who doesn't do hotels too often.

I will let you know when the inq shows up. Wondering what CL I will get. I think it is a Visa Sig only card, so at least $5K. I just have to keep telling myself that I will have scores near 800 in 2 years. Keep gardening and plugging away at the debt.
From what I read, it's specifically a Visa Sig, so expect the 5K CL or higher.
I'll be having "the talk" tonight, and I'll let you know what happens lol
