I had apped for this card a couple of times already in the past 6 months, but was declined. Well, today I saw that the $200 offer was back, and I couldn't resist trying again.
I was immediately given the 7-10 business day message. I then checked the status, and saw that I was declined again. However, after calling up their recon number, I was approved for a $500 limit.
Do I wish it was higher? Yes, but at least I have a Visa card now, and I probably won't be putting more than about $250 per month on it anyway.
How likely am I to be approved for the Amex Delta Gold next month? I've been told it's the easiest Amex credit card to get, and I'd like to take advantage of backdating.

Well, if you're applying next month for AMEX for the backdating, you can apply the other 11 months of 2013 for the same effect. Probably should have held off on the Barclays and just apped for Delta in a couple weeks before the end of 2012

Congrats on your approval

Well, I already have the Amex Zync, so if I apped for the Delta Gold in January, it should show up as opened January 2012, whereas if I wait until later in the year, it would show up as opened in whatever month I apply in. I may just wait until January 2014 if I get declined next month, since it'll be the same effect.
