Approved for Shell Gas Card - EX Credit pull Question

All,

My Scores are EQ: 672 and TU : 685.

Yesterday I apped online for Shell gas card and was instantly approved with a CL of $400 .

I called the cust service and asked that they raise the limit to $800 and they did it in 2 mins.When asked, they said they had to pull my EX report again.I am very surprised that they can do two pulls on my EX report within a span of 12 hours?

Can I call them again and some how get the additional inquiry deleted?

I have the card seems like citi gas cards don't give CLI unless it' a hard. My CL is $500 and that's all i need unless they feel like giving me an auto CLI
