Last month I was approved for $1,000 WalMart credit card. I received it about a week later. If I apply for a Sam's Club credit card and approved for it, will I have to pay the yearly membership fee or is that optional?
You still have to pay your membership dues. The only card that allows that is the AMEX Tru Earnings card..

yeah you can't even apply for it without being a member.
Can I pay for membership after being approved, or do I already have to have had membership already paid for?

you need to be a member before you apply. I personally would not have gone for the Wal mart right now as they are going to be chaning over from discover to mastercard and have a new rewards system. Wait like one month and the new sams one will be out and it will be right up their with sallie mae as one of the most popular cards.
Thanks for the info. My Walmart card is just a store card, not discover :-(

You can use your Wal-Mart store card at Sam's Club. Is there another reason you want the Sam's Club card?

Thats ok most people start out that way. Hopefully within the year it will be converted for you. I know it happens a lot with discover but who knows how it will work after the change over.
