Was just approved for the Discover More Card. Initial limit is 1000.00. Was hoping for at least 3000.00. Is 1000.00 normal?

It varies greatly. I was approved for $5k and that was more than double my highest reporting limit. I think it helped that I called in a talked to a human. He asked about my negatives and he was satisfied with the answers. I was extatic with the CL since they are known for low initial limits.

Those 2 bolded areas are more than likely the reason for the low limit.

I got 6K but because I had read that when people ask for a balance transfer for a few thousand, they usually get a CL a few hundred above the BT.
I asked for a 4.6K BT when I applied (I blame LS for that) and got 6K. I know crunching numbers did something similar as well and got a few thousand too.
It's all YMMV, but the baddies might have been the reason.

I had just app'd for the card earlier this morning, but my session "timed out," due to firefox, then got the 30day death screen, and then the "make a user profile to track..."
I'll just wait and see what happens. Just got the CapOne Cash a few days ago, so it'll be interesting to see what happens.

With this in mind, I don't find a $1,000 limit surprising. Seems about right really; hopefully you will have luck with limit increases in the future.

I had no baddies, a score of 724 (they pulled TU) and about $8-9k in credit lines, and they started me out at $1k too. But at least you got the card.
