I was approved for $5100 - 12 Inquiries - 6 of those were auto in the last two years. I had scores of all in the range of 650. No baddies. No lates.

Those big CL sound nice, however I would not buy anything there... I need to increase my utilization this month, but the new account would hurt me more than help me...

Zales is also easy to get financing, and you can usually haggle price with them to get a significant discount.  Kays, not so much.

I would apply online, then negotiate in store.  When asked for payment, give them your account number.

Re: Are Kays Jewery Credit cards hard to get?

Kays was one of the cards I acquired during my 2010 spree - easy to get..? Yes.  Does it show an avail balance on your CR? Yes,  But if I had it to do again I'd pass on them.  I'm not fond of the 're-qualifying' factor they use every year to 'see' if you are still approved for the 'loan' based on the fact that they are not a 'true' revolving account - so I'd say go the gift card route as mentioned before with them.    And just wait on a 'real' revolver that will work for you (i.e. Points, cash back etc) to use on things like this.

Never had to 're-qualify' Smiley Frustrated after a year with no use on any of my other cards.... 'just sayin'
