Asking Amex for a cli after two months with BCP

Hey guys, I'm back after a two month disappearance. I opened up my BCP card in July and they gave me an initial credit limit of 4,000.00. I had previously opened a green card account with them in Febraury. I pay every statement on time and in full for both cards. Should I request a 3X cli upto 12,000.00 right now since over 60 days have passed? Or wait? What's the best way of going about this?

Thanks for the advice guys!

I am new with Amex BCP and waiting till the time as you now. But I heard from this forum that you should try to 3x CLI. It depends on income and good credit history payment history also to get approval . I also know that if you did not get totally 3x CLI you may get counter offer ... just let do it Smiley Very Happy Smiley Very Happy

What is your current utilization with Amex cards? Do you know when they last softed you and your overall utilization and or scores at that timeframe? The 3x CLI will be based on the last soft they did on experian, so nothing to lose with the request as such.

Do you have the income to justified $12,000?

Re: Asking Amex for a cli after two months with BCP

Wow, that was really easy. Just got approved for a 3X CLI from 4,000.00 to 12,000.00 just by requesting it. Approved instantly.

Considering a year ago I had no credit history, and now I have a 12,000.00 tradeline and a NPSL Amex Green (plus starter Capital One card...but mehhh haha only used when Amex is not accepted) I am feeling pretty good. This line should really help me get approved in the future if I want any additional cards.

Conclusion: 3X Amex cli after two months works, just request it

Re: Asking Amex for a cli after two months with BCP

Now not to get greedy, because that is definitely plenty of credit for my needs, but when can I next request a CLI on my BCP from Amex? Six months? Year?

Have no plans to request more credit, but is good to know for future purposes.

Re: Asking Amex for a cli after two months with BCP

I don't think AMEX lets you go over a 25,000.00 credit limit without having a damn good reason haha. At age 23 and with a solid, but not insane, income I doubt that they will be giving me a 25,000.00 limit in six months...

but then again I never really saw them giving me the increase to 12,000.00 and they instantly did, no questions asked...and if you add up my internal limit on Amex Green, which I know is over 10,000.00, and the BCP limit it has to be around or more than 25,000.00 which seems excessive. Apparently they trust me haha. I do pay in full right away for everything once they say "please pay".

So in six months I'll probably request a CLI to 25,000 for the hell of it. If they deny, they deny haha. Only a soft pull I believe.
