I called BofA asking for a CL on my card and was told I'd have a reply in 3 days. I'm not sure if this is a bad thing or not. Most other forum that I read people have either been told they will know within 48 hours or in 5-7 days by mail. I've had the card with them for almost 2 1/2 years and never receieved or asked for a CLI until today (from $900 to $2500). I have 2 other cards (Discover- $3000, AMEX - $3000). My score is temporarily low since I had a high balance last month during the reporting, but it's pretty much paid off now. It went from about a 21% overall utilization (but it was 50% utilization on my AMEX) to currently being 1% utilization. I'm really hoping to also apply for a card ,that is tied with my sorority, which is also through BofA. Does it make any difference in improving my odds of being accepted for the new card if I apply for it in the same day as the CL increase vs waiting a week and then applying? I know waiting 6 months more would be ideal but I'm going to be out of the country for an extended amount of time and Discover is pretty much useless for that. Credit score is probably around 720 at the moment.
Hello and welcome! BoA doesn't always give an instant decision to CLI requests. Have you tried calling the backdoor number?
