Authorized transfer, getting it to report?

Last week, I added my husband as an authorized user on my Capital One card (zero balance/$3,000 limit).  My statement closing is the first week of May and last month, they reported within a couple days of my statement closing.  After reading a few other posts, I am worried that Capital One will not report at all if I have a zero balance, since they won't have anything different to report to the bureaus.  I really don't want to use this card for absolutely no reason so I am wondering if it would be wise to transfer a small amount, maybe $50 or so, from my Discover card to my Capital One card.  That way, they have a balance to report and will also update my authorized user on my card, hopefully showing on my husband's credit reports also.  The goal here is to have the CapOne card showing up on my husband's score ASAP.  Any advice would be appreciated.

Re: Authorized transfer, getting it to report?

Well my experience cap1 reports with 0 balance all 3 of mine dine last month. As long as there's actvity during the month. AU another story however sometimes it takes a few months to show up depends on the card. My husband is not an au on cap1 card but its been my experience with others.
Cards: CSP $5k, Capital One Cash Rewards VS $3100, Discover it $3k Capital One MasterCard $600, Orchard Bank $3k, Barclays Rewards MC $1250 Gapcard $900, BR $300, Neiman Marcus $1k, Macys $1200 Walmart $500

So- does there have to be activity for the card to report?  That's what I am trying to figure out, and crossing my fingers that when the card reports it will also report my husband as an AU.  I haven't used the card in a while.

cap1 will report 0 balance

Before you app think...
Have you done your research of the CC?
Does it fit your spending?
Do you have a plan for the bonus w/o going into debt?
Can you afford the AF?
Do you know the cards benefits? Is it worth the HP?
