Would it make sense to become an authorized user or joint on a closed account, if the account holder has had card for many years and has great payment history? The card is still being paid down. Not really sure if it would hurt or help, in order to obtain longer credit history.I am not even sure if credit company would allow so, any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Would the age of account history outweigh the fact that the card is closed?
