Avoiding First Premier Bank's ridiculous $7.00 auto draft fees.

Perhaps a 'DUH' post, but for those of us who have a First Premier Bank MasterCard and HATE/LOATHE the $7.00 auto draft fee charged to your account everytime you make a payment online (you have to pay them just to make payments online? What the hell??) there might be a way around it.

If you have a bank account just make the payments that way. Not through First Premier's online payment service but through your bank. I have Savings and Checking accounts at Chase bank and I set it up to make payments directly to First Premier Bank and I successfully did so a couple days ago and still haven't spotted any kind of an Auto draft fee. I hate waiting for the monthly statements but was forced to because getting assessed a $7.00 fee for making a payment of $25 does not sound cool at all.

I've been doing it that way for about a year and it's great, and there's never been a fee charged.

Plus with Chase the pament hits my FP account in 2 days.

Is there a fee to pay by check?

No fee that I'm aware of. It's just that checks take longer to clear and get credited to your account. I'm usually waiting well over a week and a half. The online payment option is quicker but is made less attractive by the $7.00 fee.

Re: Avoiding First Premier Bank's ridiculous $7.00 auto draft fees.

I just cancelled my First Premier las week right before my AF because of that fee.  I was paying 14.00 to use it and would charge maybe 25-50 bucks.  I don't need that in my life. And that measily CL Smiley Mad.   I wish I would have known how to get around that fee. Alas I really cant bad mouth them too much they did report well.
