I applied for B of A's Bank Americard Cash Rewards Visa Signature back in April/May and was declined but approved for the secured card. The reason given for declining me was " you have current or past delinquency, derogatory public record(s), or collection account(s) appearing on your credit file."
They pulled EXP, at the time my EXP score (purchased through experian.com) was 662 with 2 collection accounts; 2 negative accounts: 1 Cap One w/ 30, 60 and 90 day lates, last late in 2009. The other baddie is the HSBC/Best Buy which is now 0 balance but has 2 30 day lates, also from 2009. My current EXP score is 694, and both collections have been dropped off thanks to successful GW letters.
Do you think I should call B of A and ask for a recon? With my score do you think there's any chance of being successful? Thanks in advance everyone!
You can call a do a recon. Though there is no gurantee. Especially multiple lates and a 90 days late.
I think it's definitely worth a shot. I asked them to recon an application from this month and was approved for a $2,500CL. I'm not sure what my EXP score is but I have one paid charge off account and two collection accounts on my report. My EQ is 664 and my TU is just over 700.
