B of A sneaky CLI

Well it seems Bank of America has been sneaking at least one CLI in on my Better Balance Rewards visa. The last increase I requested was back in 2016, when it went from $7500 to $11700. I haven't looked in a while, and now I see it's at $16,600 - my highest credit line of all my cards! I certainly wouldn't have asked for a credit line like that, but I guess it's nice for utilization. What's odd is I never got  any communication of any kind that they were increasing it.

Smiley LOL

Yes you turn your back on them for a second and look what happens!

I have been carrying regular balance transfers on it, $1k - $2k, for a year or more so I wonder if that factors. It is designed as a balance-carrying card after all.

Re: B of A sneaky CLI

Nothing unusual (or sneaky) about that, at least in my experience.  I have never requested a CLI in my life, yet I have received them from BofA, Citi, PenFed, and NFCU.  Each time it shows up on the statement without any fanfare.  Chase and Amex, however, have never given me a CLI, but their starting limits have been more than generous.

Sock Drawer: PenFed Promise • NFCU cashRewards • Chase Sapphire Preferred • Chase Freedom Unlimited • United Explorer • UNFCU Azure

Re: B of A sneaky CLI

The only bank that gives me any sort of notice of a credit line increase in Elan... Probably because I don't use it very much.  Smiley Happy

Barclays just gave me an auto CLI of $1,800 a few months ago and because I wasn't looking for it, I didn't notice it until I was updating my credit spreadsheet and noticed that MY total credit line didn't match what Prism said I had.  (Before I get yelled at for not looking at my statements, I do each month, but I only look for fraudulant charges and that my payment was applied, because its purely a BT card).

I aparently totaly missed the MyFico update.
