BANK OF AMERICA Visa Signature Card - Anyone have?

After reading the previous posts on Signature Cards not reporting a credit limit to the credit bureaus I did some research by calling Bank of America to see if this applies to their Signature Card as well. The three individuals that I spoke with told me that the Bank of America Visa Signature card does in fact report a credit limit to the bureaus. They told me however that this limit can be surpassed after a review by an account specialist on a purchase by purchase basis, so long as you pay the amount over the limit in full by the next pay period.

My problem is that I'm still not positive that these folks knew what they were talking about.

I want to find out if anyone in this forum possesses a BANK OF AMERICA Visa Signature card, and if you could please let me know what gets reported to the credit bureaus? A pre-set spending limit, a high balance, an "n/a"?

Thank you very much

Re: BANK OF AMERICA Visa Signature Card - Anyone have?

BTW. I currently only have a Bank of America AMEX card. I'm planning on getting an AMEX Green or Gold in the next few months. This is why I want to do a product change to the Bank of America Visa Signature rather than carry two AMEX cards. My  concern is since the AMEX Charge Cards that I want don't report a balance, I would have two cards that have no limit reporting! This could not be good for my fico... Man Sad

I wish that I could tell you from direct personal experience, but I have read several posts that say that the BofA signature cards do report, in contrast to those from Chase and elsewhere. Have you tried doing a search here? Of course, it doesn't help that it might be under BOA, BofA, and Bank of America. Maybe signature card would get you started.

I can't remember for sure who I think has these, but a lot of familiar names are missing, probably due to the holidays. If no one else has replied in several days, please bump this again, maybe on New Year's Day, when everyone starts trudging sadly back home. Smiley Happy

Re: BANK OF AMERICA Visa Signature Card - Anyone have?

I wish I had a BofA signature visa. I have the Chase Marriott Signature Visa. I did get 2 free room nights (one free with app and one with the 20,000 free points). But they won't report the CL. One month I did run the balance up to $1300 and PIF, so at least it is reporting that as High Balance - and the current bal is 0 so at least I it is helping util. But I am not going to renew it because of the $30 AF and the now-reduced CL of $1000.

I have a BoA Visa Sig and I am an AU on my dad's BoA Visa Sig... the credit lines of both cards report to all 3 CRAs

Re: BANK OF AMERICA Visa Signature Card - Anyone have?

I have a BOA Signature Alaska Airlines Visa.  It does not report the CLI to the CRA's.  What's interesting is Experian and Transunion report it under "other credit accounts" when you pull the reports.

Having said that, I've done some "experimenting" with it.  I can max this card out (which I did on a BT) and it barely affected my TU or EX score and dropped EQ only 8pts.  I thought that would hit EQ much higher since it was recorded differently than the other bureaus.  Maxing out any of my other credit cards would kill my score.  I don't need the extra "credit" for my overall utilization, so for those in this boat, this card is GREAT!  If you need it to help your overall utilization, go with something else.

BA Signature Card Credit Limit reported!

In my case they only reported the high balance limit. I disputed this and the result of that was that it was correct. Called BA, was informed that the balance reflected on my credit report should be my actual credit limit on the card which is $10,000, not the high balance of $7400.
