I guess some background on why you have no credit may help steer you in the right direction.Credit unions are a good place to start and will tend to help you get established if you have a relationship with them. Even if it is only a secured card to start with.BoA may be a great as they will help those with no history, from what I am reading here. If they deny, you could always call and ask them to reconsider.

Just want to share what happened to my best bud with BoA this past week.
BoA is a good Prime card lender, but beware if you have a BK, or an account "included in BK...i.e....IIB" on your report. They are NOT BK friendly! I read on here recently that some with BKs got approved for secured cards. So...I told my best friend about it, who had a CH 7 back in 2000, no baddies since, and actually had a couple BoA CCs prior to his BK that were paid and closed in good standing.
He didn't "need" the credit, but wanted back in with a prime lender (sick of Cap 1, etc...I guess). Well...he app'd, they gave a number to call, then they denied when he called due to the BK. He called back and asked for a reconsider...pointing out his prior relationship with them and flawless credit since his BK, and they still turned him down flat...no hesitation whatsoever from what he said. He was bummed about it and I was even more so for sort of nudging him into it.
Sooo...if any of you have a BK listing, be prepared to NOT get any luv from BoA, no matter how high your FICOs are now! His FICO was around 725 on EX. For those of you who did get in with a BK, my hats off to you, but you seem to be very much the exception!

Definitely give them a call. Just so you know they are notoriously slow in processing secured applications. Mine took about 4-6 weeks IIRC.
