How much could you afford to put into a secured card? Even if you paid the charge offs it's still a charge off and it's hurting your report. I would say try to get 300 bucks together open up the secured card I think think of it as a savings account where I get 3% on gas 2% at supermarkets and 1% on everything else. If you don't have 300 dollars I don't think getting a regular card would be the best idea either.
