BT a balance from a spouse's card???

If one spouse opens an individual CC account, can they request a BT to pay off a higher rate on the other spouse's individual account?

Re: BT a balance from a spouse's card???

I've been doing that. I've also noticed a couple of items:

1) if you do it over the phone, you can ask for a CLI at the same time
2) Discover has asked if the owner of the BT receiving account is at least an AU on the BT account. Although if you do the BT on-line, it just asks for account number and amount.

At least for Discover, Juniper, Chase, Citi and Amex.

Heck, I even get BT promo checks that I can write out to myself as well. I just can't write them to pay an account with the same creditor.

If you're the cardholder of the TO account, shouldn't be a problem. If they ask, tell 'em it's your spouse's CC and the terms on that CC aren't the greatest.

If you're merely an AU, they might or might not let you BT to it.
