BT to Freedom from Store Card?

Im not sure if this is a good idea or not so looking for advice on it and if its even possible.

My Freedom can do a 0% BT for 6 months.

I have my Amazon Store card (GE/Sync) with roughly a $500 balance I was thinking of transfering over. Although its currently in a 0% Promo, and Im in no danger of missing any payments or Promo cutoff, Im thinking one larger payment to Chase would be better than 2 payments. As well as 1 less card reporting a balance.

Reason Im considering this is my utilization is up right now due to some medical things (mainly Care Credit) and some home repair.

I have 7 cards reporting a balance right now. Granted some are minor balances. A couple of these can be knocked out in the next 1-2 months easily.

I was thinking it mat be worth zeroing out the store card now, and paying just Chase for the 2 accounts.

Is that even possible to move the Amazon Store card to the Freedom and is it a good idea?

Re: BT to Freedom from Store Card?

It's absolutely possible and can be done very easily using your Chase online account - I think you just click "Transfer Balance" and then input your account number for the Amazon store card and the amount you want to transfer.  I think it's a great idea, and you may see a score boost once you get the number of cards reporting balances down to one or two.  Even without the score change possibility, if it simplifies things in your financial life, then that's always a good thing. Re: BT to Freedom from Store Card?

Reducing the amount of cards reporting was the main goal but simplifing things is certainly a major reason as well Smiley Happy

Re: BT to Freedom from Store Card?

It says 3% with a $5 minimum fee and 0% APR for 6 months.

So less than $15 for this particular transfer.

How many cards do you currently have?   How many have balances?   What's the UTIL on the Amazon store and the Freedom?  What about overall?
