Does AMEX let you do a balance transfer from their revolvers?
With all the offers I have to transfer with 0.00% interest rate for 12 months, there seems to be no reason to pay in full every month ....
How about paying with a check from Discover Card (they send me these blank checks once a month ... they hate that I owe them $0.00!)
Anyone done either of these things?
Thanks in advance
And the follow up question is, even if they let you do it, does it piss off AMEX? Will it trigger annoyances like an FR?
Thanks

Instead of using the check (which may count as a cash advance) I recommend doing the balance transfer from Discover.com. The BT fee is 3% for discover, so you will end up paying 3% of whatever balance you transfer.
If you have a chase card, look to see if you have any offers. I have an offer with Chase that lets me transfer balances, 12 months 0%, and the BT fee is only 1%.
Just check to see if you have better offers out there before you jump on the Discover offer. Otherwise, if you dont, the Discover offer isn't a bad one.
hmm 50k cl at amex and you want to transfer to a 4500 card...
what are your scores? income?
id say if you can pay it off do it.
if its under 5k and you have the funds why not pay it?
and no i dont think amex will get mad at you.
they are getting paid.
but does the no interest cancel the fee for transfering the money?

Scores are just over 700; income is just over $150K
I can afford to pay it off, but why do it if the interest rate is 0.0%?
I typically like to take advantage of free money ...but didn't know if AMEX frowns upon it. That's why I asked.

I have done BT's from my Amex in the past without any problems. I have done it a couple different ways - online and I have also deposited the BT checks made out to me and then paid Amex myself.
