No just apply for slate and the. Call backdrop for cli
You didn't have pre-approved for slate and freedom did you?
You can do chat for macys cli or call, doesn't matter.
Yes transfer as much as you can now and worry about it in 15 months to move again

If I'm not going to wait for the Macy's card to report, it doesn't make sense to risk the hard pull for CLI right now anyway since the only reason would be to decrease utilization to get a bigger limit on the Slate.

Re: Balance transfer strategy: When should I pull the trigger?

Just wanted to dig up this old post in case someone finds it through Google.

I waited quite a while to pull the trigger, obviously. I paid down my debt and got CLIs on my other cards. I was patient, and this was a good decision.

I was approved for Chase Slate @ $4k 12.99% and Marriott @ $8k. Then I transferred $7k of my limit from Marriott to Slate so I can transfer my entire $7.7k balance from my BoA card.

The research and patience paid off.
