Alright guys, now that I'm out of the basement and into some weird level right above the basement, I can actually see light at the end of the tunnel.
I have a BOA Platinum Plus (Student) card that I've had open since 2006. I treated the card terribly, letting it go 30+ late 3 times since I have had it, with the most recent being April of this year. In addition, it was once over it's balance ($716/$600 by the way) and carried a balance on it for roughly 5 years straight, paying minimums god knows how many times. Really just an awful way to treat a card.
By some miracle BOA hasn't closed this account. But my question is, do I have any hope of reviving this relationship with BOA and maybe PCing or CLIing or have I pretty much written the chapter on that one? Obviously, I wouldn't even ask them for anything until my last late ages at least a year, I'm just wondering if anyone has experienced this before.
Full disclosure to make matters worse: I had a World Points Gold card from BOA as well that I let lapse to 90+ days late, and it was closed by them. I paid them off in full before it was charged off, however, and now it sits as "Pays as Agreed" and closed (albeit closed by Grantor).

They PCd?? That's pretty cool. I still want to put a year between me and the last late I've posted, but that's good to know.

Sorry, I should have asked, they did a hard pull right?

Wow. That's pretty great. I still don't know if my other derogs will keep me from any real growth, but a true PC from a student card at least shows it's possible.

This seems like a pretty good strategy to me. A year of good payment history and responsible use would probably be a better sign of futer credit worthiness, than a late from more than a year ago. I am no expert, but that's my $.02.
I have a question though , did they raise the limit when you changed?.
I have the platinum student for like 3 years and always used it well , never over and late and they always refused to increase.
I havent tryed in a while but Id like to get an increase or just close the card because I refuse to use it anymore like this

I think the key is to PC it first, because you've probably long outgrown the "Student" portion. I'm sure there's probably a ceiling to that.
