it will be a hard pull if youre applying to open a secured account. it should be a soft pull when they check your CR to consider graduation. it does NOT automatically graduate after 9 months. they will review in 9 months but will not graduate if you have a tradeline that became negative/delinquent within the past year from the date of graduation review. for those that say they got hit with a hard inquire after 9 months, this was a fluke.
