Bank of America weirdness

Alright,

Got a 99/500 secured BoA in December, and in June the credit limit increase button popped up. I asked for $5000 and it was approved for $1500 and unsecured at the same time. I called an analyst and had it increased to $5000 without an issue, didn't even ask me a single question about the bazillion accounts and INQ's.

Then the credit limit increase disappeared link disappeared.

Now it's back... Two months later. Is there even a chance I'll qualify for another credit limit increase? I remember reading that it usually shows up only if you're eligible. Ironically BoA seems to like me, I currently have a 0% BT offer till July  of next year.

Also, I still have the $40 AF on this card, what are my options to getting rid of this without jumping through too many hoops?

Same thing with me, although my card was never secured to begin with nor an annual fee. Got CLI two months back, and the luv button vanished, now it is back as of yesterday. I'm getting the itchy tingling finger to give it another try, but don't want to be the first one in line lol.

I think the real question is why do you have to resort to a secured credit card when all of the lenders in your profile are just as good and gave you decent CL's? I know this wasn't your original rebuilder card because you said you obtained it in December which was only eight months ago.

Re: Bank of America weirdness

I just checked my account, and did not see the CLI link.  I got a CLI less than two months ago.

I do recall hitting that luv button as soon as it appeared after account opening, and being denied, so I would caution you that presence of the luv button is not a guarantee of a CLI.

Re: Bank of America weirdness

Where did you find that cli button? I'm curious to see if I can do the same.

Edit: Never mind I found it, but it wants a deposit, Its not a credit line increase if I'm securing the credit, I hate that.

Re: Bank of America weirdness

The link notwithstanding, they typically only approve a CLI every 3 months. Quicker requests are automatically denied.

Re: Bank of America weirdness

Everytime you ask for CLI it will be a HP, keep that in mind. If you clic the link ask for the sky, then when the system only gives you less, then you can call ask for recon using same HP and get a higher CLI (many reports about this). They can use the same HP for up to 30 days.

To remove the AF I had to call them several times until I found someone that said it can be done. I think the last number I used was one from the backdoor numbers thread. Even I was able to lower my APR with same call. Good luck.

Sometimes to get the $39 annual fee removed is to ask them to change your card to a Travel Rewards..............And about the Link for a CLI is there until you use it then it will comeback after 5 or 6 months, i started with a Secured BOA credit card $300 then it became Unsecured with $1,500 and now is at $25.8K but they don't want to give anymore CLI ,i have tried and i keep getting Declned

My secured card grauated  late last year I think, But they would not remove my AF.....My AF just hit last month and I plan on closing it come next year.

You are correct, I have better cards in my lineup and I sure dont need to be paying AF at this stage of my rebuilding.

That's an impressive proggression. How long did it take you to go from a $300 secured card to $26k?
