Re: Barclay CLI???

I got the arrival with a CLI of $12,250, which pleased and surprised me. Exactly six months later, I got a $4,000 increase. My Utilization was around $4,600 or so. Then this week, at my year mark, I got another $4,000 increase, for a total of $20,250. My utilization was about the same, although I had just made a big payment in full because I my interest free period was ending. Hope this helps.

That may be the trick then.  I've only run a total of $3,700 through the card in the last 6 months and $2,200 of that came in one month.

Re: Barclay CLI???

I just finished my 7th month with my Barclay NFL rewards card. I went online to request a CLI and was denied.. The reason(s) were no credit report was used and sufficient credit available. I am boggled.

Now do I have to keep a high balance over a period of time to get an auto CLI?

Re: Barclay CLI???

I have 7 statments from my NFL rewards card and no auto increase. The last increase request was denied because I had sufficient credit available and no credit report was pulled.

Today, I requested an increase to $3,000 with the purpose of BT $2,000 and putting all my debt onto 1 account. It will bring my overall utilization down to 9%. Guess I will know in 48 hours.

Re: Barclay CLI???

I was able to get a $500 increase manually today after talking with Barclay rep. What they like to see if utilization of as much of the credit line as possible with repayment as quickly as possible. In other words, use the credit limit as much as possible and pay off as best you can every month. They like to see their card being used over another credit provider.
Even though I had the income for the higher credit line, I am an AU on my wife's cards and they generally look at individual credit accounts and credit lines. So, in this case, I have a shallow history and as long as I charge on the card and pay it off every month then I am assured to double the credit line in six months.

Fortunately, Between the NFL rewards account and Capital One.....I can pivot balance transfers back and forth to provide additional charging and payoff advantages.

Any other thoughts?

Re: Barclay CLI???

I received a manual review for NFL rewards card and got a $500 increase to $1000. Account is 7 months old.

In discussing my credit report, I had 1 CO from First Premier Bank that was questioned (which is under dispute). The agent questioned the Capital One accounts that I am AU with and Barclays did not count the AU tradelines in the evaluation process. He stated that Barclays reviews the account for usage and payments. The more credit used and then paid off the more of an increase opportunity at the next auto review in 6 months.

Re: Barclay CLI???

Oh phooey, I called in to see about a better APR (and was given 0 to the previous 24.99) and I asked if I was eligible for a credit limit increase without a HP. She said yes, and they gave me 200, bringing my limit to 1.2k.

It's still my lowest limit card, but I really like the rewards on bills and groceries. I use it to its fullest and then PIF every month. Does that mean I'll be out of luck for an auto CLI when my 6 month mark rolls around un July?
