Hi,

Maybe someone knows the answer. We used global card transfer from Amex, which worked pretty well, I asked myself if this is also possible with a Barclay Card. Was not able to find any information on their websites. 

Would be nice to have another long existing card in the credit histroy.

Can you let me know how you managed to transfer the AmEx card? - I was told I couldn't (emigrated from the UK to the US in June 08)

That is pretty easy. Take a look there http://www.americanexpress.com/globaltransfers/global_card_transfer_en.shtml

Make sure you are connected to a transfer specialist, only that folks can access foreign accounts.Took about 10 days and the card was issue and showed up with the member since date at all credit bureaus

Thanks! I tried this when I first arrived (last June) but was told that a transfer wasn't available for my card (it's a British Airways-issued one). I've just rung again and now they are happy to set up a new card based on the history of the old one. They won't be running a credit check either, so it'll be interesting to see what it does to my score.

Congrats, nice to hear this

With the right person on the phone it should work everytime. I dont no how long you are a member with Amex, but if you have a long histrory with them it should give your score a boost.
