If the redemption threshold were lower (or nonexistant), this would definitely be a strong contender. Otherwise, not really.
I often times let my cash back get close to $100 before I redeem anyway, no big deal for me. I took the offer, my QS1 is useless and since Cap1 doesn't want to budge I really don't care to do anything more with them. Maybe someday I'll get a DC but I'm going to wait out the Costco transfer to start doing business with Citi.
I like getting $200 for essentially doing nothing too...

Your QS1 - was it a card from a bank Capital One bought out, like Household or HSBC? Those cards are known to never grow or lose their high AF's.

Yea, it has no AF and it is my oldest card at 5 years, only reason I keep it and charge a thing or two to it each month. Either way, don't need Cap1 at this point
Signup bonus is juicy and the best part of the card. 5% redemption bonus is cool, but would take forever to really get a nice "return" on it. Having to spend over 3000 dollars to be able to redeem (after the obvious bonus stuff) really hurts and is by far the worst part of it.
All that said I believe it is slightly better than some are giving credit for simply because of the signup bonus.
10,000 spend of double cash: 200 dollars
10,000 spend of Barclay Cash Forward: 350 dollars+5% redemption bonus
It's definitely not a bad option for a general spend card, but I'll be staying away for now.
I am getting the same offer through CK, but I'd rather not apply. I have applied for many store cards and got approved, but I can't get a regular credit card.
I have the card. I didn't have the $200 offer in rewards, mine was $100 if I put $500 through it in 90 days. Which I already did. My card I already was credited with the free $100. I know it has a $50 redemption minimum. But I've never redeemed that low anyways. It's a World MasterCard what ever that means. I also applied mine with a CK recommend.
Got the same offer several months ago and used the BT for a major unplanned purchase. Very happy with BC. My wife and I have 4 cards and get regular CLI without asking.
