Hello all. I am trying to find people who either have or have applied for a Barclays card. I am particularly looking at the Barclay Financing Visa card that they have linked on the Apple store. If you have applied for the card I would appreciate if you could tell me which report they pulled if you know, your score when pulled, approved or denied, and your starting credit limit. I know there are other varying factors I just want to get an idea. I need a new laptop for school and I would love to get an apple. I cant pay it all today but definately could pay it off well before the 0% ran out.
Thanks
If you haven't yet also check to see what kind of financing your school may offer, I got 24 mos financing on a macbook pro.
Pulls TU. Pretty easy to qualify for. You have to have credit history though
TU puller, used to be very easy to get and highish CLs, but I think they have tightened up recently.
Few auto CLIs for DW and I, but CL has gone up evey year.
Good potential fraud detectors
Never had a major problem with them
Applied last week...
Instant approval for $1490.00 CL. Called recon and explained that I was going to use it as a revolving cc and not to finance a new apple purchase; they raised the CL to $4000.00. TU score was 767; one 30-day late ~1.4 years ago; 5 inquiries...
I just applied for the card and got approved for $600. I am only 10 months post-discharge on a Ch 7 BK due to business failure but have gotten my TU score up to 680 already thanks to listening to the folks on this site. Going to call recon tomorrow based on lincognito's post and see if I can get a higher CL. We'll see how it goes....
Hello,
I applied for the Barclay's financing Visa in hopes of getting 12 months to pay off my new iMac.
Scores were as follows:
- TU (fako through creditkarma) 759
- EQ (at the time) 713
AAoA about 7 years
Debt to credit 38%
no lates or negative tradelines, 0 inquiries in the last year (1 inquiry after they pulled this one)
I qualified for $500 which was only good enough for 6 months interest free. (definitely the lowest amount of all my cards) In retrospect I wish I never applied because I didn't want to drop my AAoA and don't need any new cards - not to mention the unnecessary inquiry ding! Anything I can do with this card after I pay off the $490? Product changes, etc?
I was approved as well, though I had to speak with a CSR as I have a fraud alert on my report. Here is the recon number if you end up needing it.
866-408-4064
Are you sure you want a Mac for school? Most applications and such dont work with OSX. You may end up running a virtual machine most of the time just to get your school work completed.
Just saying...........

Hi hyprble,
I applied for the barclaycard financing Visa a few months ago and was instantly approved for a $1490 credit line; I called recon and was approved for $4000. You might want to call to see if they can do anything for you.
